Variegated Boxwood is a unique form of the American boxwood that has dramatic Variegated foliage. It creates a wonderful color contrast with other green plants, and it can be grown as clipped or unclipped specimens. It will naturally develop into an upright shrub 8 feet tall and 4 feet wide, but with clipping it can be kept to almost any size you choose. Placed strategically around the garden it creates wonderful accents and contrasts, or plant it in a row to create a unique golden hedge. It is hardy throughout all the milder parts of the country, and looks wonderful among the more well-known green boxwoods. This evergreen shrub looks beautiful all year round, however you choose to use it in your garden. It can be planted among green boxwoods to create a unique mixed green and gold hedge, or use as accents at the corners of green hedges.

  • Beautiful golden-variegated foliage
  • Perfect accent plant or specimen
  • Can be clipped into many shapes
  • Plant with green boxwood for contrast
  • Easily grown evergreen with lots of uses

Plant your Variegated Boxwood in a sunny place for the strongest leaf color, but it will grow happily in partial or even full shade. It will grow in most garden soils that are well-drained, and it has few pests or diseases. It is also normally not eaten by deer, so this is an easy-care plant for any garden. Clipping will allow you to create beautiful geometric shapes, and with its upright form it is especially suitable for pyramids and cones, or large balls. As a formal specimen it has no equal, but as an informal shrub, left unclipped, it is just as beautiful and an easy, low-maintenance way to bring year-round color to your garden.
