If you desire a fast growing large shrub that stands up to cold winters and retains its evergreen beauty, then look no further than a Spring Grove® Western Arborvitae. This conifer with a tight pyramidal habit reaches up to 30 feet tall at maturity and with a mature width of around 15 feet, making it a suitable addition to yards that aren’t too large in acreage. Although its cultivar name is ‘Grovepli’, you will typically find this tree sold by its tradename Spring Grove®.

  • Year-round evergreen habit
  • Superior winter color and hardiness
  • Deer-tolerant
  • Suitable as a hedge, screen or specimen
  • Fast-growing

Unlike some Arborvitae, you will not have to wait for eons for a Spring Grove® Western Arborvitae to achieve its mature height and width. The North American native sports dense sprays of forest green foliage on a tight, upright and pyramidal form. Its glossy and scale-like leaves retain their green coloration throughout winter, brightening up an otherwise dull landscape when other trees and shrubs have dropped their foliage. Even its shaggy bark adds an interesting dimension to the landscape with its red coloration. It has a low canopy of around 2 feet from the ground and typically lives around 70 years before its decline. With its hardiness and many uses within the landscape, you cannot go wrong with the addition of a Spring Grove® Western Arborvitae.
